WILD PERCEPTIONS
From a long career as a photographer, Anita Schmid has found the limits of figurative expression. As if painting had waited for maturity to manifest itself, it suddenly becomes obvious, and the gesture, freed from reality and its tools of perception, becomes precise, determined and direct. Anita Schmid's constancy is to be found in the search for the Matrix that inhabits and surrounds her, in the exploration of universal relationships and systems of perception. Her vocabulary of sinuous forms, geometric cuts, and colors that gradually reach saturation, expresses the perfect balance of nature, the harmony of the depths, and pure instinct.
The cosmic order finds its language there. The work reveals itself to the artist when the concentration of energy is accomplished, there before her, indisputable. Like something new that one has always known.
