EYE OF THE SPIRAL

The spiral, a timeless symbol of growth and transformation, reveals the hidden mathematics of nature. From the unfurling of a fern to the curve of a seashell, the Fibonacci sequence whispers through living forms, creating patterns both precise and organic. Each curve traces a rhythm of life, where order meets randomness – geometric rigor blending with natural fluidity.

The two sculptures, “Eye of the Spiral”, translate these principles into three-dimensional works in white and black marbled marble, enhanced with mirror elements that interact with light and reflection. Installed at two diagonally opposite entrances of the residential building, they face each other in a mirrored arrangement, creating a harmonious axis between the entrances. Each sculpture measures 190 cm in height and 117 cm in width, emphasizing the building’s presence through a balance of mathematical precision and organic aesthetic. Realized as part of a competition by Raiffeisen Wohnbau in Vienna’s 1190 district, the project was executed in collaboration with Alexandra Grubeck, the curator of the “Kunst am Bau” initiative.
